Action:

On 3 December 1942 an allied advance was hold up by enemy troops positioned at a hilltop near Tebourba, Tunisia. With four volunteers Major Le Patourel managed to put several machine-gun posts out of action. Because the volunteers were wounded in this action he stormed forwards alone and caused the enemy heavy casualties. Major Le Patourel was eventually wounded and taken prisoner. He passed the rest of the war as a prisoner of war.
