Action:

During the first attack on Miteiriya Ridge, Egypt, Sergeant Kibby’s commander was killed. Following this event Sergeant Kibby distinguished himself as an exceptional platoon leader during the period of 23/31 October 1942. On 23 October he managed to put an enemy machine-gun post out of action, killing three enemies and taking twelve others prisoner. During the next days he managed to motivate his men during many actions and repaired several communication lines while he was under heavy enemy fire. During the night of 30/31 October he volunteered for the destruction of an enemy position, but was killed during the execution of this mission.
