Action: During the attack on the Rhine Bridge on September 17 up to 20, 1944 in Arnhem lieutenant Grayburn preceded in the fight with the largest form of bravery and perseverance. Although he was wounded himself early in the battle and his men had a short of ammunition, food and sleep, he constant gave them an encouraging word. Thanks to his leadership and heroic action it was possible to occupy the Rhine Bridge much longer as initially planned.
