Action: During an attempt to stop a hostile advance on June 12, 1944 at Ningthoukhong in Burma, B Company of the 7th Royal Gurkha Rifles came under heavy fire. Rifleman Ganju stole carefully forward with his Piat. When he was at thirty meters of the hostile tanks he eliminates two of these with his Piat. In spite of several wounds to his hands, among which a broken pulse, he eliminates the crew of these two tanks also. Just after the situation was safe, he let treat himself to his wounds.
Details: Later promoted to the rank of Hon. Captain.
