BIOGRAPHY:
Ignacy.Bator came to the UK in September 1939 and joined 301 (Polish) Squadron and trained as an Air Gunner. Latterly he was seconded to Special Forces and parachuted into Poland in January 1943.
He did not survive the war purportedly being killed in the Warsaw uprising in August 1944.

"Pilot Officer Bator, a member of the Polish crew, has shown outstanding ability as a wireless operator/air gunner. He has completed 40 operational sorties of which ten have been at extreme range and undertaken in adverse weather and with the liability of fuel shortage. The success of these missions can be attributed largely to this officer's skill as a wireless operator and to the confidence which he has inspired in other members of the crew."
