Unit: Transportofficier Gewest 11 Ordedienst
Awarded on: May 5th, 1953
Action: Has distinguished himself by etraordinary courageous and tactful acts as transport officer in Area 11 O.D. (Ordedienst) – Noord Holland north of the IJ after August 1944 when the weapon drops in the northern part of Noord-Holland, especially in the Wieringermeerpolder began reaching vast proportions. Skillfully using technical methods and camouflage, he succeeded in guiding these transports, which had to take place mainly over water in such a way that no supplies were lost. These transports did not only take place in Area 11 but also to neighbouring areas, in particular Area 10 (Amsterdam). Due to a fateful coincidence, he was arrested February 9th 1945 and executed the next day.
