His three brothers, Edward McCreadie, James McCreadie and William McCreadie also served with the Merchant Navy and reached all the function of Captain.
Peter McCreadie was at the time of his death Chief Officer of the "Ronaldshay", Port of Registration Calcutta, India. The ship was sunk by a German or Italian aircraft.
