BIOGRAPHY: 
Whini Makamaka joined the Air Force in 1943 en went on May 24th 1944 in to the New Zeeland Army with the "Maori Battalion". On June 29th 1944 he was send to Italy. During this time he was promoted to Corporal. Het returend from Egypt to New Zeeland in 1945 and arrived in Wellington on January 23rd 1946. He was discharged in 1948.
