BIOGRAPHY:
Andrew Alexander Adams joined the Royal Navy at the age of 15 years and 6 months. He was at first dispatched to HMS Wildfire with the rank of Boy 2nd Class. At 17½ years he became a Petty Officer. In late 1938 he was promoted to Ordinary Seaman and served on HMS Thracian. His job here was Submarine Detector. Still classed as Petty Officer, he received the rank of Chief Boson at the age of 22½ years.
Later in the war he served on LST 425.
