Action: On 14 February 1942, Lieutenant Wilkinson was the commander of HMS Li-Wo. During a patrol in the Java Sea, Lieutenant Wilkinson got an enemy convoy in his sight. While his men were encouraging him he decided to attack the enemy convoy. During this action he managed to sink several supply ships. He even managed to fight an enemy cruiser for almost one hour. When his ship was eventually hit, he ordered his men to abandon the sinking ship. Lieutenant Wilkinson went down with his ship.
