During the battle near Nürnberg, Kaiser in person wanted to be informed of the positions of the enemy. He made a reconnaissance with his adjutant, Hauptsturmführer Kukula but they never returned and for a long time they were missing in action. The grave of Kukula was discovered in 1965. After section of his remains they founded traces of a shot in the back of the neck. The most plausible answer is that both encountered American GI’s, were captured and simply shot on the spot. |
