Action: On August 19, 1942, captain Porteous touched during an action, wounded to its hand at Dieppe in France. Nevertheless he was capable of eliminating an enemy and saved the live of his sergeant with this action. When he saw that two officers of another unit were killed he directly took over the command of this unit immediately. At another attack on the enemy positions he touched wounded again, but could eventually eliminate these position nevertheless. Just then he permitted medical aid.
Details: Later promoted to the rank of Colonel.
Patrick Anthony Porteous is buried at the St.Mary's Chuchyard, Funtington, Great Britain.
